The Annual Banquet January 24th 2012
This year's annual banquet was held at
Goldsmiths' Hall
Nearly 250 liverymen and guests
attended this year's annual banquet which was held in the
magnificent setting of Goldsmiths' Hall. Our distinguished guests
were Past Master The Princess Royal with Vice Admiral Sir Timothy
Laurence, Lord and Lady Salisbury and Mr Paul Heygate the Chairman
of the Farmers' Club. The guests were received by the Master Peter
Faulkner with Mrs Alison Faulkner, Senior Warden John Reynolds
with Mrs Janet Reynolds and by Junior Warden Hazel, Baroness
Byford, with Mr Barrie Byford.
The delicious meal was followed by the
traditional Ceremony of the Loving Cup during which we followed our
tradition of singing The Farmer's Boy, led by Liverymen Andrew
Brown and Julian Sayers. After the Toasts the Master gave a
humourous speech during which HRH The Princess Royal presented the
Livery Silver Salver to Liveryman Robert Cooper and was presented
with a cheque as a donation to Farms for City Children of
which she is Patron. The Master then proposed a Toast to the
guests which was responded to by Lord Salisbury who in turn
proposed a Toast to the Company.
A very enjoyable evening and the
photograph is of the Master greeting HRH The Princess Royal on her
arrival.
