Annual WCF Agricultural Lecture and Dinner - details announced

More information released on one of the Company's key annual events

Date: 11th January 2018

The 2018 Agricultural Lecture and Dinner

The lecture this year will take place on Wednesday 11thApril and will, once again, be held in the stylish surroundings of the  Plaisterers’ Hall at One London Wall, London EC2Y 5JU.

Our speakers will be Ross Murray and David Christensen and the topic, in line with the Master’s theme for 2018, could not possibly better timed or more important -

The Lecture Topic:

The Post-Brexit Future for Land Tenure and Occupation

The speakers will between them address the all-important question of what the future might hold for those who own land and for those who wish to farm  it under tenancy arrangements, given that a third of all UK farmland falls within the let sector in its various guises.

Our two speakers are well placed to illuminate the challenges and opportunities which lie ahead given their in-depth knowledge and experience of matters relating to the many forms of land tenure. Ross Murray is both a landowner and someone who has spent the last six years as part of the CLA’s Presidential team. David Christensen’s highly successful dairy farming business has been built up by his family over the generations by renting land in different ways rather than owning the asset itself.

The evening will not only provide the chance to hear from these experts but also to pose questions and discuss the topic with a panel under the chairmanship of our Master Julian Sayers, who himself chairs the Tenancy Reform Industry Group for the Defra Ministers.”

 The Dinner:

There will be a Champagne Reception followed by a three-course dinner with wines and port. After dinner there will be a cash bar for anyone wishing to carry on the conversation with friends and acquaintances later into the evening.
